Entrepreneur, Influencer, Mom & Interior Designer. Creator of Fusion Mineral Paint available in 30+ countries
I’ve had the great fortune of working with many incredible and talented people in the industry over the last 20 years. These experiences and my entrepreneurial nature led me to create Fusion Mineral Paint™ in 2014.
My philosophy here is that anyone can Paint it Beautiful™, so I developed a product that made upcycling as easy as could be. Open the container of Fusion™ and paint!
At the end of the day, it is incredible to come back to a place that feels comfortable and oh-so-‘you.’ My goal is to inspire you to create your own beautiful space at home.
“l started painting furniture by pure accident about 8 years ago, while living in a busy condo downtown Toronto. Every Monday people in the building took all furniture they didn’t want to be picked up and taken to the landfill. One morning I found a beautiful 1950’s dresser sitting on the curve to be picked up as garbage. It broke my heart that someone would get rid of something so beautiful just because of a few scratches.
I took the dresser to my apartment in the 16th floor and after some research I came across Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and got addicted to it”. Daniel now proclaims himself the furniture rescuer “one man’s trash, is another man’s treasure”.
Daniel created his online store Another Man’s Treasure in 2014, and hasn’t stopped painting since.
“My way of painting has evolved through the years, and I don’t think I have a specific style per say, I get inspired by the piece itself and let it guide me to whatever it wants become”.
“I worked for 35 years in the fields of disability management and vocational rehabilitation. About 10 years ago, I began painting furniture with a couple of friends. Like so many others, we painted in the garage. We sourced our furniture and décor projects from relatives, thrift stores, charity shops and auctions. We couldn’t believe that other people wanted to purchase our finished pieces! I also sold my refinished projects in an antique mall and in a retail store. I love to recreate and refurbish something old to make it new again.
I began following several furniture upcycling and refinishing blogs and came across WoodUbend Mouldings and Posh Chalk products. I instantly fell in love with them. I knew I had to have these products and became a stockist so I rented some space in a retail store. When the opportunity arose to become the National Distributor, I instantly decided this was what I was meant to do.
I am super excited to start my new career as the Canadian WoodUbend Distributor!”
Hey there, my name is Miranda and my husband and I have been giving new life to old furniture pieces since 2012 Two years ago we started up Ever After Restorations and have created many pieces for customers and family members to enjoy for years to come.
Have you thought about restoring a piece of furniture you have or have found but don’t know where to start?
I would love to share with you some basic tips to make this process less intimidating to start.
Painting furniture is a pretty fun diy project, plus it means that you can salvage and upgrade pieces that may otherwise have ended up in landfill.
Whether you want to paint wood, laminate, or metal furniture, are working on a dated family heirloom or sprucing up a recent gem you found on marketplace. I will share with you some tips that will get you sailing through each step and loving your newly refinished piece all over again.
This can save you 100s of dollar on buying new, it’s a great hobby and a fun community to be apart of.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the show and sharing with you what has worked for me. I would also love to answer any question you have at the end of the presentation.

Loree was a nurse full time and Scott was a truck driver. Both worked full time and ran the business in the early days before the company grew and needed their full-time attention. Homestead House has been a passion project and a family-run enterprise since the beginning, with family members still in prominent roles today. Neither Scott nor Loree expected it to grow into the large business it is and are thrilled that both of their daughters are immersed in the company. Jennylyn Pringle their eldest daughter is now president of Homestead House and creator of Fusion Mineral Paint. Meagan their youngest is the Creative Director in charge of creating new paint colours and products for The Fusion™ Mineral Paint line. A true family affair.
“Established in 1989, Homestead House Paint Co. began its life as a reproduction furniture manufacturer that found a need to create its own authentic milk paints to replicate beautiful old world finishes. Recognising a need in the market for these speciality products, we quickly expanded our paint line to offer a variety of other coatings and finishes. We pride ourselves on recreating heritage colours from different eras that have stayed popular to this day. These colours have been included in our Milk Paints, 100% Acrylic Exterior & Traditional paints, and now our Fusion™ paint line. Fusion has taken the painting world by storm and is now available in over 30 countries worldwide.”
Originating as the only Canadian Milk Paint manufacturer, our family run company has shown its dedication and commitment to providing high quality paints across North America since 1989. With the increasing demand of eco-conscious consumers and years of innovation we are now able to provide a premium Zero VOC paint that no competitor can rival.
Now in its second generation as a family owned business, Homestead House remains Canada’s sole independent Milk Paint manufacturer.
